Overview:
Based on the popular book, Too Young to Retire: 101 Ways to Start the Rest of Your Life, and Too Young to Retire: A Journal of Transition, and led by a 2young2retire Certified Facilitator, the course addresses key issues necessary for a healthier and happier transition to the next chapter; a time that can be longer than many previous careers.
¨ The Ageing and Retirement Mindset: Embracing the realities of the Longevity Revolution.
¨ Money: The unresolved issues that could be getting in the way.
¨ Wellness: Transitioning with extreme vitality.
¨ Work: Reworking work: how much, when, where.
¨ 101 Cool Business Ideas to Spark Your Imagination.
¨ Volunteering: The value of community service.
¨ Leisure: Getting the balance right.
Process: (Note: this course can also be offered in 1.5 day or three half day sessions.)
Small groups, ideally 6 to 12, gather for 60-90 minutes weekly for 6 to 8 consecutive weeks. Fully engaged with the content and exercises, the core dynamic is dialog. With the Conversation Café method, each participant expresses and listens generously as provocative questions are introduced by the facilitator. The conversation evolves organically where community support, authenticity, clarity, momentum and actions take place from a desire to create a fulfilling next chapter.
Between sessions and working with a buddy from the group, participants have fieldwork assignments to deepen the learning experience and accomplish action steps along the way.
